I like to use ginger and garlic paste in my cooking a lot. I don’t like to peel ginger and garlic everyday, so I make their paste in bulk and store in the freezer. Instead of storing the whole paste in one container, I like to freeze them as cubes in the ice tray. This makes it easier to use individual cubes for cooking at one time without creating any mess.
Ingredients (makes around 8 cubes)
Peeled garlic: 1/2 cup
Ginger, peeled and cut into big pieces: 3/4 cup
Salt: 1/2 Tsp
Water: 1/4 cup
Mix all the ingredients and blend into a smooth paste. Fill this paste into an ice tray. The amount you put in each cube of the ice tray can vary depending upon the amount you normally use in one go. Cover the tray with cling film and freeze it for at least 4 hours. After freezing, remove the cubes and store them in an air tight container or a zip lock bag in the freezer.
